About Me
With eighteen years of professional experience in teaching, institutional research, and assessment in higher education, I have developed strong management and analytical skills. Working at seven private and public colleges and universities accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges Commission and Middle States Commission on Higher Education, I successfully managed online course evaluation systems, conducted surveys and research using SPSS, Quatrics and other tools, and presented reports across the campus to school administrators and faculty. At Kean University and Saint Joseph’s University, I helped two institutions achieve reaccreditation with successful monitoring reports. I implemented the 1st online course evaluation system at Cambridge College for over 1,400 faculty members and achieved an 89% response rate within one semester. I have provided oversight in the design, development, interpretation and implementation of student learning outcome assessment plans and supporting activities for academic programs , and provided recommendations for curriculum improvement based on my analysis of outcomes assessment data.
At Saint Joseph’s University (2015-2019), I have served as the Assistant Provost of Institutional Effectiveness and Research and the Chair of the Institutional Effectiveness Committee (IEC) and been instrumental in building a new assessment process and timeline for both academic programs and non-academic units. I worked with IEC members to establish the institutional effectiveness plan for the entire campus and organized assessment activities across campus including reporting, planning and assessment of assessment. New templates, detailed instructions and trainings led to the successful completion of more than two hundred unit annual reports and student learning outcome assessment reports from all major departments and administrative units every year. The learning outcomes and unit resource allocation plans were organized, measured, reported and shared with the whole campus, initially in Blackboard, and later in Canvas and Campus Labs. I led a team in moving the annual reporting process for all departments and divisions from paper templates to an online reporting system in Campus Labs. This system connects unit level assessment, planning and resource allocation with institutional level strategic plans, budget planning, and decision making.
Additionally, I organized with faculty members a series of assessment workshops offered annually to provide campus-wide student learning outcome assessment trainings for academic department chairs, program directors and assessment coordinators in all colleges. In collaboration with the Office of the Provost, I also did extensive research and worked closely with an IEC Co-Chair to develop a new program review procedure. The new procedure is designed to guide the development of academic programs, identify strengths and weaknesses, allocate resources based on priorities, and enhance program effectiveness and structure.
As an independent consultant, I am well prepared to guide my clients through the tough challenges inherent in today’s rapidly changing higher education environment. Whether navigating organizational restructuring or resolving accreditation challenges, you need professional advice to build your credibility and enhance your long-term success.
